Could Disneyland Really Get a Third Park?

DisneylandForward is Disney’s sweeping master plan, approved in 2024, to reimagine the Resort’s layout—adding new attractions, hotels, and entertainment spaces, and even hinting at a future third park. While many details are still emerging, confirmed projects like Avatar, Coco, and an expanded Avengers Campus are already on the way.

What is DisneylandForward?

Back in 2024, Anaheim city officials gave a green light to a rezoning plan that reimagines Disney’s existing land—without adding new acreage. This approval opens the door for new attractions, retail, dining, hotels, and possibly… a third theme park.

Disney has also committed at least $1.9 billion in investment over the next decade, along with contributions to the community. That includes funding for affordable housing, park improvements, and infrastructure upgrades like safer streets and improved traffic flow.

What’s Actually Coming?

While a third park isn’t confirmed (yet!), Disney isn’t wasting any time in expanding what’s already here. Projects we know are on the way include:

  • An immersive Avatar land (set to replace Monsters, Inc. in 2026)

  • A brand-new Coco ride

  • An expanded Avengers Campus featuring two bold new attractions

  • A modern transportation hub with 6,000 parking spots, plus a pedestrian bridge leading directly into the resort (construction begins fall 2026)

A Third Disneyland Park—Reality or Fantasy?

This is where things get exciting. While Disney hasn’t officially confirmed a third park, concept art for DisneylandForward teases “a new kind of entertainment”—language that sounds very much like a potential third gate.

Even Disney CEO Bob Iger has added fuel to the speculation, noting earlier this year that Disney has room globally for seven entirely new lands—with California’s Avatar land serving as just one example of what’s possible.

What Are Fans Saying?

Fans are buzzing with their own theories—and plenty of opinions. On Reddit, you’ll find everything from:

“They’ll turn the third lot into a hotel—what we really need is another gate.”
to
“We don’t need another mall. We need a third park.”

Whether it’s roller coasters, new lands, or just more magic, there’s no doubt the excitement for expansion is very real.

Final Thoughts

DisneylandForward isn’t just about zoning changes—it’s the start of a brand-new era for Disneyland. With confirmed projects like Avatar, Coco, and Avengers Campus expansion on the way, the future of Anaheim is already looking bigger and brighter.

And while the idea of a third Disneyland park is still just a whisper, it’s one worth listening to. I’ll be keeping watch on every new rendering, update, and fan theory as this vision continues to take shape.

If you’re planning a trip in the coming years, keep DisneylandForward on your radar—it’s going to transform the way we experience Disneyland for generations to come.
